How to merge PDF files
- Drag your PDF files into the area above, or click it to browse and select them.
- Drag the page thumbnails to set the merge order — the number badge shows the final position. On phones you can drag with your finger or use the ◀ ▶ buttons. The first thumbnail becomes the first pages of the result.
- Click Merge PDFs. The combined file is created instantly and downloads automatically.
What makes this different from other PDF merge sites
Most online PDF tools work by uploading your files to their servers, processing them there, and sending the result back. You have no way of knowing when those uploads are deleted or who can access them along the way. If you're merging a contract, a lease, a medical record, or a pay stub, that should make you uncomfortable.
ThisIsMyPDF's PDF merger never sends your files anywhere. The entire merge runs inside your browser, on your own computer or phone, using technology built into the browser itself. That design gives you three advantages:
- Privacy — your files never leave your device, so there is simply nothing to leak.
- Speed — with no upload or download queue, even documents tens of MB in size finish in seconds.
- No limits — we pay no server costs for processing, so we don't cap file count, file size, or how often you use it.
When to use it
- Bundling documents scanned in separate batches into one file for submission — job applications, government forms, bank paperwork, school enrollment
- Combining a cover page, body, and appendix that were created as separate files — reports, portfolios, assignments
- Assembling an ebook or course materials from per-chapter files into a single volume
- Collecting invoices and receipts into one file per month for your records
Frequently asked questions
Are my files really never uploaded to a server?
Correct. Merging happens entirely inside your browser, on your own device. Open your browser's network tab and you will see no file upload requests. Sensitive documents like contracts and ID scans are safe to use here.
How many files can I merge? Is there a size limit?
There is no limit on the number of files. Processing speed depends on your device, so very large files (hundreds of MB) may slow down depending on browser memory, but dozens of typical documents merge in a few seconds.
Can I change the merge order?
Yes. After adding files, use the up/down buttons in the list to reorder them. Files are merged from top to bottom.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
PDFs with an open password are skipped for security reasons, and the tool tells you which files were skipped. Remove the password first, then try again.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. All modern mobile browsers — Chrome, Safari, Samsung Internet and others — are supported. No install or login needed; just pick your files.
